At this time, I am only working with individual adults.
Due to the potential of having multiple sessions canceled at short notice, it is vital I only work with people who will not be detrimentally impacted by such a situation.
Children, couples, or high acuity adults aare not a good fit and I will provide quality referrals.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am a trained disaster mental health responder.
This means that when a community faces a crisis — a mass casualty event, a natural disaster, a public tragedy — I may be called to respond. That work can take me away from my practice for anywhere from a few days to several weeks.
I don't take this lightly, and I don't disappear without a plan. Coverage is arranged, you will be notified as soon as possible, and we will pick back up when I return.
This is addressed in full in my informed consent and yearly policies, which we'll go through together.

Dress in layers and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and shoes you can actually walk in. It can be a full 7 degrees cooler out here than in Asheville, so always throw a jacket in the car!
Also, we will be out of doors so if you need to bring a sun hat or apply sunscreen- please do so.
If you'd like to spend time with the horses, closed-toed shoes are required.
The Homestead is a working property, and it will occasionally be smelly and muddy. Just in case, I have ample muck boots and Crocs if you need to borrow footwear.

Plan for approximately 40 minutes from downtown Asheville. The drive itself is part of the experience — country roads, open land, the pace of things slowing down before you even arrive.

If your allergies are manageable with medication, you'll likely be fine!
However, if you have severe or unmanaged allergies to animal dander, plant pollen, or a history of anaphylactic reactions to insect stings, Homestead Therapy is genuinely not the right fit.
The property has horses, a dog, cats, chickens, a garden, and all the bees and wildlife that come with that. I'd rather be honest about this upfront than have you find out the hard way on a Tuesday afternoon.
